Bringing back a valley icon

In 1983, An American Car Wash first opened its lanes in the heart of Palm Desert, where El Paseo becomes Town Center Way in the Westfield Shopping Center. It long stood as Palm Desert’s favorite full-service car wash, proudly serving tens of thousands of locals, snowbirds and visitors each year. It was subsequently sold to absentee investors and… lost its way, shall we say, but now An American Car Wash is back in name and spirit.

Now locally owned and family-run!

We are a British-French-American family who have recently settled in the Coachella Valley after 30 years in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in the French Alps. We love cars and we have restored An American Car Wash to its former glory, combining our European expectations of quality with friendly American service and good old-fashioned hard work.
